Having the ability to make changes to your listings is crucial. However, there are certain restrictions in place that you need to be aware of when it comes to editing open listings.
Whether you are using an Auction or Buy it Now format listing, understanding these limitations, you can make sure all the details are correct when creating your listings next time.
Remember, these restrictions are in place to maintain fairness, transparency, and the integrity of our marketplace.
For Auction Format Listing:
When it comes to auction format listings, you have the option to make edits, but your listing must not have any activity, meaning there are no bids or offers placed on the item. Additionally, the remaining duration of the auction must be greater than 24 hours in order for you to make changes.
For Buy it Now Format Listings:
If you are using a buy it now format listing, the rules for editing are slightly different. In this case, sellers have limited editing privileges if there is any activity on the listing. This means that if there are offers on the item, or other related sale activity you will not be able to make certain changes.
Fields That Cannot Be Edited:
There are certain fields within open listings that cannot be edited under any circumstances if there is activity. These include the title, description, and images. These are considered crucial to the integrity of the listing and cannot be altered once they are submitted.
Fields That Can Be Edited:
There are some fields that you can edit in your open listings. These include the currency, quantity/stock levels, price, and the option to make an offer.
If the item has been purchased via Buy it Now, Auction or if an offer is accepted then the item is considered as sold and no edits will be allowed.
Duplicate Listings:
If you find that you need to create a similar listing to one that is already set up, you have the option to make a duplicate copy. Simply select the "List Similar" option, and a duplicate listing will be created. From there, you can make any necessary adjustments to suit your needs without having to start from scratch.
Closing or Deleting Listings:
In some cases, you may need to close or delete a listing altogether. To do this, simply select the checkbox on the left of each listing that you want to remove. Then, scroll down and you will see the options to either cancel or delete the listing. This feature gives you the control to manage your inventory effectively and efficiently.
Note, when deleting listing from your account, the listing will not delete from our database. This means that we still have access to the listing and all related activity.
